Skilled nursing services are provided by specially trained registered nurses and licensed practical nurses that begin all cases with an assessment to obtain information to establish a plan of care. These services are prescribed by a doctor on an intermittent basis and may include the following:

- Medication education and administration
- Intravenous therapy
- Catheter care
- Diabetic care
- Wound care
- Educating the family in caring for the patient in the home
Physical therapists (PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits
Occupational therapists (OTs) treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working.
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
Home health aides work under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist. Services primarily consist of assistance with personal care. Under Medicare, a home health aide may stay in the home a limited time or for a visit only and is authorized to provide personal care only. Home health aide services may include the following:

- Bathing and Toileting
